Toddler Community
The toddler program is designed for children 18months to 3 years of
age, to assist the child during this special period of growth. It provides
children of this age with an opportunity to explore new relationships with
friends and to interact with adults in a loving and nurturing environment.
As part of their early Montessori experience, toddlers are introduced to
age-appropriate Montessori materials and invited to make choices from
a variety of activities that support their developmental interests and
needs. Snacks and outdoor play are a part of the daily routine.
The toddler program focuses on these key developmental areas:
• Sensory and Perceptual Development
• Self-help Skills
• Language Skills
• Physical and Motor Skills
• Social and Emotional Growth
Since toddlers cannot communicate well enough to parents , we will
complete a report for each toddler each day. It will include such things
as: time of meals, what was eaten, amount eaten, time of nap, any
medication given, and various comments about the child's day.
Daily Schedule:
Young children enjoy a structured schedule that allows for flexibility. A
schedule helps the day to flow more smoothly, allows the children to
anticipate coming events, and aids in achieving a variety of goals. We
will adhere to our written schedule to the best of our ability, keeping in
mind that anything can happen when children are involved. There will be
times when we have to make adjustments to the schedule.
