The Human Resources Manager ensures that HR strategy is implemented in line with the school’s vision, core values, and business plans; and that HR policy, procedures, and processes are developed, communicated, understood, and consistently implemented.
The HR Manager stays abreast of legal, regulatory, and educational Industry changes and demands on people strategy/ internal organizational culture dynamics. In essence, ensure the organization is abreast with best practices.
You will provide guidance and work cohesively with staff to create a collaborative community. To ensure an optimal working environment, you will lead the programs designed to monitor all staff performance and culture-related parameters.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Observation – of the organizations’ culture and climate, industry best HR practices, shifting and emerging trends, salary surveys, et cetera.
- Planning and Development – Assisting the ED in planning the organizations’ HR strategy and needs. Supporting and ensuring the planning for each staff member’s development across all domains – spiritual, cognitive, language and communication, functional performance, social and emotional. Also, participating in the planning of school-wide programs and events
- Prepared Environment – creating and maintaining a conducive working environment. Ensuring systems are maintained/upgraded regularly to support smooth operations/transition of new staff.
- Implementation – Anchoring the recruiting, onboarding, retraining, remuneration, intervention and release of employees.
- Record-Keeping – keeping all pertinent records of all staff – prospective, existing and past.
- Assessments and Reports –Assisting with and ensuring an effective appraisal system, and assessing the school’s working temperature and culture.
- Community Building – communicating with and establishing a positive relationship with and between staff.
- Intervention – Leading the implementation of the intervention plan for staff with culture/performance difficulties, and ensuring the resolution of grievances.
Qualification, Experience, Skills, and Competencies
Acknowledge Jesus Christ as Saviour.
Knowledge of labor laws and human resources best practices
Knowledge of talent acquisition strategies.
Knowledge of business ethics and compliance structures
University degree in Educational Leadership, Human Resources, or any related Social Science field
Membership of certified HR professional bodies
Minimum of 5 years work experience with at least 2 years specifically in HR. Experience within the education sector will be an added advantage.
