Staff Development Days are days set aside for staff to develop individually and collectively, through workshops, team-building activities and personal growth efforts.

Prayer Coffee is a time for parents to come together to pray for the children. It holds once a month, usually on the last Friday.

Back to School Social holds the first weekend of the school year. It is a day filled with outdoor fun for the children and parents. It is also a great opportunity to welcome new families to Discovery House.

Parent Education Series provides the opportunity for parents to get to understand the Montessori philosophy and other child development issues. There are several of these through the year. The first of these is the Montessori Journey, which is repeated every year. Other sessions cover various parenting issues.

Culture Day is a day to celebrate Nigeria’s independence. Children and staff come to school dressed in traditional attire, and parents are encouraged to come in and share interesting stories from their culture with the children.

Christmas Pageant is a day the school sets aside to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. It involves music, dance and drama performances by the children, and loads of food and games for all afterwards.

Grandparents’ Day is celebrated in honor of our children’s grandparents. It is such a special day, with our grandparents coming in from other states and out of the country.

Wacky Week is one of our favourites. It is a whole week of activities that allow us to acceptably do things contrary to convention. We have had activities such as pyjamas day, crazy hair day and others.
