THE INFORMATION AND EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY (“IET”) MANAGER

Description

The Information and Education Technology (“IET”) Manager assists the Founder/Executive Director (“ED”) with ensuring the group of organizations(“Group”) for which she is responsible has the technology needed to actualize its vision, mission and strategy. The word technology is used in the context of the group’s infrastructure – includes software, computers, mobile devices, assistive devices, peripherals, and security systems.

For expediency, the IET Manager is under the HR framework of Discovery House Montessori School.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  1. Observation – Observe the technology space to keep abreast of new trends in IET; Observe internal use of existing platforms for decision making and optimal value delivery.
  2. Planning and Development – Plan and develop technology strategies and solutions to existing and emerging business and education needs.
  3. Preparing IET Environment – Install, configure and launch IET
  4. Implementation – oversee and direct the day-to-day activities of the group’s information and education technology (IET), ensuring that systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely at all times.
  5. Record Keeping – Keep detailed records of software/hardware configurations, peripheral specifications, problems and solutions.
  6. Assessments and Reports –Assess the effectiveness of the group’s IET strategy and implementation; Generate all relevant reports to keep the ED abreast of the effectiveness of the IET strategy and current issues.
  7. Community Building – communicating with and establishing a positive relationship with all stakeholders, and keeping the ED abreast of all matters arising.
  8. Intervention – Troubleshoot, create and implement solutions to IET problems.

 

Education/Training/Experience

  • Acknowledge Jesus Christ as Saviour
  • Must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or a post-graduate degree in computer science/engineering, or a related field, from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in IT
  • Experience with ERP systems, Learner Management Systems and Microsoft 365 Setup.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development in related concepts.
